Body surface and rust through

On 03 thru 07 trucks...how common is door, rocker, floorboard etc rust through? I know this can vary from State to State...but if I find a nice used F250 that appeared to be clean and kept clean by its previous owner...are there any known rust problems despite the best kept body? I'm in middle Indiana so we can see some sand/salt depending on the winter.

I ask because 01 through 07 Silverados are notorious for the lower doors rusting from the inside out as well as the lower rocker panels doing the same. You never know its happening until it comes through nice paint. It gets thin and if you push on it...it'll break through and you'll have a hole. No easy fix at this point like surface rust.

I never have noticed any rotted out SuperDutys. I'm not cutting on Chevys...but my friend has kept his truck A1 clean and his lower doors are gone where the inner and outer skin come together. Didn't know if Fords fare any better in areas that tend to show up as a suprise.

I have seen some superduties that are 8-10 years old with rust above the rear wheel wells, and also the bottom of the tailgate. Alot of it depends on what the truck was used for and how much the owner cared about it. Overall though Ive never seen trucks rust out as fast as those chevys at the back corner of the cabs.
