Finally took my black off my badges. used aceatone and a paper towel. Soaked the paper towel and held it on the letters till the paint softened up. Then used a toothpick to get it all off. Very long process.. I guess I never thought of brake cleaner to do this.

I went to NAPA and got AIRCRAFT paint remover ,about $8 ,went home taped the surrounding areas ,sprayed it on ,it bubbled and then took an old tooth brush to it and with almost no effort it all come off. Then I washed the areas and am going to wax this weekend. the whole process took about 15 min and is the easiest mod in the world, and it looks great.

ps. dont forget the badge on the tailgate
