Color Match the Front Bumper

Hey Gents, I'm looking to color match my chrome front bumper to Oxford White. I've got a powdercoat quote, but its expensive, like $250-300 and that's IF he can even match the color. I have easy/cheap access to a paint booth, but wasn't really keen on the idea of painting it because of the wear and tear the front bumper takes and it getting chipped up, especially since the surface will be tough already to paint (chrome).

So this leads me to my last idea. Has anyone ever tried wrapping their bumper with vinyl? I hear that stuff is crazy durable and isn't that hard to do. I can get some really good either 3M or Avery vinyl 60" x 84" for like $75 so it really isn't that bad cost wise.

Let me know what you guys think! Thanks

I bought some 3m vinyl to wrap my new bumper but now I'm thinking of just painting it with some rustoleum matte black. I'm still up in the air about it though. The vinyl seems to go on pretty easy and once on and exposed to baking in the sun I have no doubt that it would stay on the bumper until you scrape it off, even alongside the edges of the middle openings. Call 3m and they will send you samples of all their colors.

I just ordered some vinyl to do my bumpers (should be a thread a couple down from yours about it). The amount you are planning on ordering is way more than you'll need (about 15'x1' if you don't mess up).

It'll be super easy to do our bumpers since there aren't any complex curves, etc. I got a free sample kit from 3M. Took about 2 days to get it.

Ordered my sample book from 3M and trying to get one from Avery Vinyl too. We'll see how it comes out!
