Halo headlights

Hello guys , can someone tell me at what sequence the halo rings on a
projector set of headlights are to turn on ? Do they turn on when the running
lights are switched or when the low beams come on ?
I,m trying to wire the ballasts in and don't know what circuit to tap into.
Thank you

I have mine wired in to keyed power, I like the look and my truck doesn't have daytime running lights.
