Headlight Options - New/Retrofit, Buy/DIY?

The stock headlights are pretty crummy, so I want to upgrade and do it right in a cost effective manner.

The lenses on my existing headlights have some crackling in the plastic. Not fogged looking, but little vertical crackles that don't go all the way through. I don't think a lens reconditioning kit is going to fix that.

I thought about buying some Harley lights on eBay, like someone else recently posted about, then get a retrofit kit and DIY me some lights. But this adds about $100 to the retrofit price, not to mention the possibility of screwing it up.

Also thought about getting some cheapo headlights like and ebay special or Spyders and switching out the projectors for better ones.

Or I could just buy some good premade projector headlights, not Recon - been seeing bad things about them.

What has worked for you guys? I realize the Headlight topic has been done, but I'm interested in a comparison of options.

I ended up just going with a set of Depo Harley lights with the clear corners. The projector headlights look like *** on our trucks.

It's just a matter of preference. I like projectors, though many people think they look riced out. They are superior to traditional headlights though.

My wife just bought a Mustang and it has projectors and they are awesome. The difference between them and halogen reflector lights is unbelievable. I thought my headlights sucked before, but after seeing the comparison I can't stand them.

Hey Auto, how are those Depo Harley lights with the clear corners holding up? I was considering going with those as well.
