The "step bit" anmetcalf is talking about is a really great tool it's technical name is a "uni-bit" it is an electricians type tool and come in many sizes, it drills a very accurate nominal hole with clean lines. i only suggest that once the hole is drilled before you run the wire through it use a fine file or a dull metal instrument like pliers to take of the knife like edge the bit will create. It will avoid any nicks or cuts to your wires insulation.

Ok im in the middle of it now. Ive removed all the interior and am pulling the wiring harness. DOes the complete original wire harness come out? What does the green wire with no end on my recon harness attach too. Im a little confused about the wiring. Does the new harness need to be reattached with original plastic clip fropm the previous harness?

On my '06 it was the brwn wire coming out of the back of the headlight switch. Use a Volt meter or a testing light to verify on your '05. The brown wire was on the top side of the plug in.

Man I wish I read your reply first but I found it. the light are done and look awesome. Only thing is I thought the whole light would light up but its just the front of the cab lights. oh well I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! ohh yea the instructions from motomans madness call for the stud hole to be drilled at 1/4"...........thats a Negative Ghostrider play that by ear. If I had drilled them to be 1/4" they would already have fallen off my truck!

It took 7 hours but that was beacause it was my first time. It does take some patience and step by step process......cut NO corners. I can do it again in 3-4 hours. I would definatley do it again.
