Smallest Wheels for F350

Hey guys and gals. I'm looking to get new tires for my truck (2005 F350) and I can't stomach the price difference between the old 15" tires (i.e. 33x12.50x15) and the "new" 18 inch tires (33x12.50x18). I put brand new BF ATs on my 1986 Blazer for $600 (33x12.50x15). Those same tires for 18" wheels will run me almost double. So here's my question. What is the smallest wheel (diameter) that will fit on my truck? If 16" would fit I would buy new wheels and tires, which would be cheaper in the long run.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Adam

- I say old 15" tires because that was the standard not too many years ago. Now 18" and 20" are the standard. There is less rubber on 18" tires than 15" tiers, but they cost almost twice as much! ARG!

16" is the smallest. a 15" will not clear the brake rotor. I would stay with the 18". I have 20" on mine and tires are getting cheaper every time i replace.

On your 05....a 17" is the smallest that will clear the brakes.

Note: not all aftermarket 17s clear the calipers due to the design of the inside of the wheel.

99-04s can run 16s

05-08s can NOT run 16s (unless you like running big wheel spacers and/or grinding on your calipers to clear the wheels).

As I mentioned some aftermarket wheels (Eagle Alloys, KMC Diesels to name a couple) won't clear the calipers on 05-08s in a 17" wheel.

Thanks for the fast replies. I'm going to keep on the lookout for a wheel/tire package that won't break the bank. I like the look of the 18" wheels, but as I said before, the price is outrageous!

Thanks again. I love this site!

Opps. Wasn't even paying attention. Didn't notice it was an 05

Yeah, 16's wont fit on 05 and up super duty's.

17" is the smallest for 05 and up's.

16" is the smallest for 99-04 as stated above
