Thefts by door handle

Be aware folks. Super Duty's are apparently easly to steal. Crooks can break a little piece off of the bottom trim below the door handles, and from there it is easy to pop up the locks:rant: . They will glue the piece back on afterwards, and unless you are looking for it, AND are extremely close to the vehicle, you wouldn't even notice. Super Duty's are now one of the most stolen vehicles because of this. Maybe replace them with aftermarket, use a club, alarms, etc.

May I ask where this info came from? Not questioning your post, I'm just curious if an insurance company issued this info or something.

Just "FYI's" I got from people at work. I am in law enforcement, so it's reliable. I am going to see what else I can find out.

I have one of those Autolock things that goes over the brake pedal. But as you all must know, these security devices; the club, alarms, etc, just keep honest people honest. If someone really wanted to steal it, they just go get a flatbed, and use that to steal it.

I've read on other sites about people getting their SuperDutys broken into this way.

Honestly after thinking about what the inside of the handle looks like after popping my handles off more than once I can see how easy it would be to push the lock up.
