will a 2008 tailgate with the step thing fit on our trucks if not directly with some modification

they will fit, but i believe you have to get the hardware for the bed (IE right side thingy<---LOL)

ford parts only, there was a thread on this forum about the conversion along time ago (about 4-6 months maybe) i would do a Google search for the info.

The process is exactly the same for the step tailgate version (as far as the hinge on the pass. side is concerned)

The tailgate assembly for the non-step & the step are completely different.

Its just a matter of if you're willing to spend and extra 500 to 600 bucks for the step mechanism & the handle.
