Changing mirrors--2003 to 2005

I've got an 2003 PSD 4x2 that came with the crappy small mirrors (yuk!!) and hate them when hauling. Just bought some used factory mirrors off of an 05 F350 with the larger dual arm trailer towing type that are heated and have the turn signal/running lights in them.

How difficult is it going to be to wire in these new mirrors to make the heat and lights work. I assumed that the plugs on the end of these mirrors are different, so I got the pigtail harness off of the 05 truck with about 10inches of wire to try and splice in. My truck is a lariat but didn't come with heated mirrors. How would I turn them on and off? Is there a factory button when the PSD's come OEM with heated mirrors?

Any and all help here is appreciated. I really want to get those small ugly mirrors off my truck!!!

Thanks,

Matt

I can't help ya, but i'm very interested! I have the tow mirrors but want to upgrade to the turn signal heated ones like you are. Hopefully someone on here has done it already and could tell us how it works. Good luck

My buddy did the same swap, except with 06 trailer mirrors (off of my truck). Just plug and play bro! He had one clip to plug in and it was a done deal, hopefully your truck will be the same!

I got LUCKY!!!!

Well, I finally got a chance last night to start on my mirror swap expecting to have to do a lot of wiring...........man did I get lucky. My truck already had the correct plugs and was pre-wired for the heat and lights!!! I was so excited it wasn't even funny. Just plug and play. 45 minutes later I had new mirrors. So sweet!!

Thanks for all the detailed help....but thankfully I didn't need it! For future reference my truck is an 03 with a production date of 04/03.
