Hella Pencil Beam Vs Driving Beam
I am looking at a set of 4000i Compact Xenon lights for driving the south Texas roads with there 70MPH speeds at night. I am not concerned with the up close spread as i have HID converted headlights and some PIAA fog lights. My question is should I go with the pencil beam or the driving pattern? thanks for any advice in advance.

well, if you feel you have the near distance covered ,go pencil and just aim where needed.

I would stick to the driving beam, the pencil beam is very focused and would be good if you only drive on very long perfectly straight roads. The driving beam will light up a more useful area for on road driving.
Here is a helpful chart about beam patterns: Hella Headlight and Auxiliary Lamp Beam Patterns |
