Remove 2 tone from 2005 Lariat Black/brown
I have an 05 Lariat Black with Brown lower tone. I am trying to black my truck out completely and wanted to know if it would be possible to remove the lower tone brown, is it a vinyl that I can peel off and it have black paint underneath that I can just clean? Also, can I remove the fender flares and just spray over them with a line-x/bedliner type coat, or would I have to sand and prep it? I attached a picture so you can see what I am talking about. Thanks guys

I am pretty sure it is painted

Yea pretty sure it's painted to....you could do a bed liner, but I would just get some plasti dip.....then you can remove it when you want to...

Would the Plasti Dip hold on the rockers or would I have to touch it up often or redo the entire thing? I was also thinking of Plasti Dipping my chrome wheels bc I was told I could not get them powder coated bc they are chrome and already showing signs of pitting. Would the plasti dip still hold in that case, or should I start a new thread asking that?

It's painted and yes it is black under the Arizona Beige, I have the same truck, but it would be very hard to sand it down and get to the black.

Thanks for the info man. So I guess my best option is a spray on bed liner or plasti dip. Would a clear coat on the plasti dip help from keeping it from fading? I am thinking of even blacking out my front and rear chrome bumpers

It holds pretty good from all that I have seen and it would work on your wheels to, just make sure everything is clean....and as for clear coat, u would wanna buy the stuff the sell I've heard putting any other can of paint on it makes it hard to remove and can go through the plasti dip

Do you have pictures? What exact duplicolor product did you use?

yes i have pictures i cant upload them though...... i can text you some if you'd like 508 232 1064. as far as the dupliccolor goes they sell it at all advanced, napa,ect... auto stops its just truck bed lined in a blue can i can also send you a picture of the can if you wish. Its 10$ a can but i really like the texture its not rough and gritty its almost like plastic ...i tested it by keying it scrapping it with other objects and it holds up great.... and then i followed it up with some walmart 96 cent can of gloss black. total project was about 90 bucks with all the paint sand paper and tape..... also do you have the pin striping?
