Hood alignment

Hi All,

I'm in the process of doing a head stud install and took the hood off to make the job a little easier. I am now at the point where I installed the hood back on the hinges. The problem I have is it no longer lines up. the drivers side has about a 3/8 inch gap between the hood and cowl. the Passenger side is about 1/8 inch

I was wondering if the is a trick to align the hood. I loosened the drivers side bolts that attach the hinge to the hood and could not budge it. I removed the forward bolt completely and noticed the hole is just big enough for the bolt. so no adjustment there.

Any help would be awesome.
