Exhaust tip

Hey guys my 06 came with the factory chrome package..so I have the chrome exhaust tip. How can I polish it...get rid of the road grime...soot...I washed it today and tried mothers....didn't really do anything.

Well it depends do you want a mirror finish look or a clean metal road tar free tip? If you dont want it polished- good old scotch brite cleans up tips like you wouldnt believe with little effort. If you want a mirror look- I would scotch brite it, then clean the metal off with solvant, then compound it out. I personally like the clean metal look instead of a chrome mirror finish look.

Bead Blast, Grit Blast, Scotch Brite, or Aluminum Oxide.


I am fortunate, working in a large machine shop has its advantages.

Mineral spirits and 0000 steel wool works wonders.

WD40 and really fine steel wool works great then just polish it.
