Tailgate Lock

So I bought a tonneau cover for my truck, went to lock the handle on the tailgate with the key, it turns about 1/4 of the way but doesnt lock or anything. Is there a special key required for this or is the cylinder locked up? Never paid attention to this since I never had a reason to lock it before. As always, Thanks in advance

my tail gate uses my actual key to lock and unlock it

The key only turns about 1/4 turn. Did you try turning it in both directions?

Sprayed a little pb in the cylinder and it turned MUCH better. Working now. Thanks

PB is awesome. I bought some to try (on a members advice) on my turbo bolts. They came right off.
