06 grill on a 00 model bumber ?

I have read that you need the newer bumper to change to the newer grill or cut the bottom of the newer grill. I just bought the truck and I know the bumper was replaced, there is a decent amount of space between the 00 grill and the bumper currently on. How can I tell if it has the newer style bumper already??

to put 05-07 grill's and headlights in an older model you either have to replace or modify the fiberglass header panel behind them to make them work no matter what you do. If your bumper was replaced, odds are they replaced it with the right bumper and just left more airgap between the headlights and grill and the bumper. Thats easily adjustable...

yea i know i gota cut the header panel is there anyway to tell if the bumper is the newer style? "odds are" yes but i was not planning on cutting the grill as it is visable, I was going to order the $299 precut grill if I have the older bumber. Thanks for ur replie\s
