Issue with lower door seals and front windows, need advice...

I just got back from a trip up in the U.P. and when I opened my door all this sand was along the jam. I realize that because I don't have mud flaps I'm inviting this problem, but has anyone figured out how to avoid this? I compared the seals against new ones and they seem to be close to new.

Also, both of my front windows get so much grit in the rubber seals that it scratches the glass. Anyone found a way to prevent this?
