Figured I'd make a thread of the progress I've made on my truck over the last few years:

How the truck looked when I got it:



Put 15k on the truck, I pulled the heads off to replaced the head gaskets that the dealer "said" they replaced and found this...they must of forgotten to tell me about this...

Too many things were wrong with the engine so out it comes and in goes...

After 8k miles, I got sick of trying to tune the auto so I stuck a zf6 in it


After another 15k miles, this is the progress I've made:




Give me your opinions, my current wheel and tire selection I'd like to make my winter wheels, and I'd really like to get a set of 20x10 mazzi hulks or equivalent.

looks great man!!
i would only go 20s if your going with a 35 inch tire or bigger, if your going to run a 33 inch, go with 18s.
add some 2012 mirrors with lights
maybe 2005+ paintable front bumper all black.
paint the grey trim black
new style fx4 stickers for box or go totally clean
coilover front suspension swap?
just a few things i think would make it pop


anyways man, with your 12v what did you have to buy for the kit to do the swap? thinking about doing it instead of headgaskets, because as with yours i think my motor is going to have lots of other damage as well.

and why the zf6 and not the dodge 6 speed or 5 speed?

I think the truck would look great with 35s, but there are currently 2 reasons why I don't want 35s right now. One, the truck won't fit in my garage, and two, we have a nice car wash out here that they clean it for one that the truck may not fit like into if I do 35s lol.

I would kill for some 08+ mirrors with lights and I may go with an 05+ paintable bumper someday, or may see about painting mine. I've thought about the coilover swap but I don't now if I want to put that into this truck or not, someday I'd like to get a crew cab.

I had to get the adapter plate, tach adapter, engine mounts, modify the drive shafts, ummm lol. If you have specific questions, feel free to ask. I put some studs, little bigger turbo, timing, injectors, and a little pump modifying so its not stock as well. I'd rather go With a nv5600 bc it's a much smoother trans but I got a sweet deal with it on one of the forums. The dodge trans prolly would of been cheaper bc I wouldn't of needed an adapter plate, and you don't need to modify the floor hump.
