Windsheild replacement info

It's time to replace the windshield on this mighty beast and I was wondering if someone could give me the procedure for replacing it? My repair manuals are with my camper 75 miles away and I have the glass purchased. I have replaced windshields before on the Explorers with the foam tape, but I don't see it's use here.

Thats the one and only thing I pay to have someone to do on my vehicles. Bump for you.

Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get.

Thanks for the bump southend, just finished up removing it tonight, looking forward to installing tomorrow. I did learn that this one has been replaced prior to me. Wow what a hack job.

For all those interested, It's finished. In the past on the first generation Explorers they used a 7mm X 7mm self adhesive foam tape to keep the urethane adhesive from oozing inside and spacing the windshield from the pinchweld. Not in this case, but I would recommend the use of the foam tape across the bottom to make the install nicer looking. The old part number for that foam tape is ESB-M3G137-A. Good luck.

I agree with you on how much a pain it is, but another secret I forgot to mention is the adhesive flows much nicer if you warm the tubes in a gallon bucket filled with hot water from the faucet.
