HID Lighting?

I hear of a few people, with HID head lights and fog light for there trucks. what are they and whats the advantage?

How much, Difference over stock?

Whats needed and is it just a bulb or whole light assembly?

some hid's are one beam only, some still have dual beams. I have the single beam (no high/low) and I love them. compared to stock they are 100X better! They put off so much more light and are much brighter.

To run hids for the most part is a simple bulb change but the bulbs have a ballast that must be mounted cloes to the light. plug and play for the most part though.

I was curious how different are the hi/low bulbs compared to just the hi bulbs. Are the hi/low not as bright or are they pretty much the same?? Why wouldn't someone get the hi/low over just the hi???

and do the hid fogs have a ballast too??

Yes they do and trust me you will want both headlights and fog lights I have just the headlights right now and the fog lights arent even worth turning on anymore because there is no visible light from them since the HID's are so bright!

I have these 10,000K hi/low beam kits in my light buckets (It's sick the added light you get with these) and I have a set of Piaa 60xt work horse's in replace of the stock bumper lights with a 12,000K hid upgrade. Everybody in my town no better then to try flash me.....

your right holleywood, I was running my hid upgrade piaa 60xt's today and a pig fill'd a witch and pulled me over. Thankfully he recognized me (Owner of the local Gunshop) but he was stilled EXTREMELY pissed, not to mention i run with no front plate (State requirement). I'm not sure why but as visually pissed as he was he still let me go.

As everyone else has told you, HID's are great for visibility. They are great in the rain and any other form of "violent" weather. I bought my lows and fogs for under $200 total!! They took me about 20 minutes to install as there isn't a lot of room under the hood to mount the ballast, but once you find a spot everything just plugs right in!
