Tinting headlights

Can you use the rustoleum or the vht to tint the headlights? Just going for a light smoked look. Will it last against the heat of the light. will it dim the lights to bad. Anyone who has done out chime in?

wondering the same thing..I just did my tail lights and side mirror lights, wanting to slightly tint the headlights, but I have the same worry as you- the headlight heating up & possibly damaging the paint...Hopefully somebody with experience will chime in..

Halogens will probably buble the paint, hids probably not. There always needs to be a guinea pig so hop to it and let us know how it works. Those are the only ones i have never tinted

If I'm gonna be a geniuea pig, one question. If it does bubble, can I still remove it easily. Will it mess them up?

Yes, mineral spirits and or acetone

Why don't you just buy them covers you can put over the lights?

My friend had tinted headlights on his Cadi cts. I had to drive one night after he drank a little much, with the high beams on I had a hard time seeing at night. But it looked bad *** during the day

I did this on a old dodge ram i had, it never bubbled and i was using halogen bulbs. I could not see well at night though... so i wouldent advise you do much of a tint. I did a total blackout on mine though.
