debadging...and then rebadging lol help!

hey all ive been searching on here for the last hour on how to do this and did not come up with any definitive answers so im gonna make my own thread! lol

heres what I want to do, the end result im picturing is just having all of my badges except the front one flat black, im assuming it would be a terrible idea to try and do this while they are still attached to the truck so take them off and paint them...no big deal thats fine BUT...what is everyone using to put them back on?? special tape? duct tape folded on itself

hoping to knock this project out this weekend so let me know!

Send a message via AIM to Fantom
you just need some 3m double sided body molding tape. $8-$10 at your local auto parts store

also, "duct tape folded on itself"

I think folded duct tape should be sufficient. But I have been wrong before haha

Yeah it looks good. I got some 05+ badges and painted them black and tried to paint the f250 part white but it looked like poo and apparently they have discontinued the stickers or I would have mine done and on by now.

Double sided auto body tape will be your best bet. It is intended to do exactly what you need. Duct tape will work, but only short term. It will eventually fail.

I painted mine while on the truck. Just tape off the surrounding area.

I'd say, just paint the duct tape and put it over the badge...

What kind of paint? I think that would be a lot easier obviously but would make me nervous trying not to get it on body....
