What is with the COWBELLS???

Can anybody tell me what hanging a cowbell off the rear bumper or hitch stands for. The missus saw some trucks with them on at the pulls and now she wants to put one on my truck. I told her "No Way" until I know what it means. I can understand hanging one of the "nutz" on but a "cowbell"? I am sure that the knowledgable folks here will enlighten me. Thanks, Skip

Its the same thing as having nutz. They didn't have the nutz back when the cowbell started. I guess you could say the cowbell is the original nutz.
