bed patch panel

I am looking fo a patch panel to fix the fifth wheel hole in my bed. I was wondering if anyone has seen one or if I am going to have to use flat piece.

One way would be to make a piece of wood match the underside, then lay two layers of fiberglass and clamp it to the underside. Clean the underside like you would if you were to paint it. Then after it is dry, a light touch of Bondo in the bed. and some matching paint.

Or just call a junk yard and see if they have a bed floor you can buy from a damaged bed so you can cut out the piece you want/need...
