what year truck do you have? what year was your friends? The reason I ask is if he has a leaf sprung truck and you have a coil over it is two completely different worlds. the leaf spring trucks ride like poo and the coil over like a honda civic. My friend has an 8" rize on his 05' and it rides just as good as stock but he is running toyo a/t's. fill out your sig that will help everyone identify you a little better. good luck!

I'm partial to Donahoe, but Rize is decent also. Both will give you a better ride quality than PC, Fab, skyjacker, superlift.

In turn you pay a little more for them but it's well worth it. By the Time you Add good shocks to any other kit you could have already bought the Donahoe

i agree with dieselman77, I'm saving for a Donahoe Zooroad 9" they say it's the cadilac ride of lifts.

I have a 8" rize kit sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Hopefully I will get around to it this week. I am going to be running 38s and hoping they clear.
