KMC Backseats

I was thinking of ordering a set of KMC Backseats and I emailed an online retailer to get a price. They said they won't fit my truck unless I lift it 6".
2007 F350 FX4 with factory 20s, no lift and stock 275s. Here's what they said-
The only offset the 20x9 KMC Backseats come in is a 0 offset. Your stock offset is 35-42 so the only way those wheels will work is if you lift it at least 6".

Any one got any input?

There is a guy here locally that is running 22x9 kmc backseats on a stock lift. It can be done.
