Complete Re-Paint...How Many Have Done It?

Has anyone ever done a complete re-paint of their truck? I'm seriously thinking about doing mine. Going from white and tan two-tone to all black. I got a price a while back of $4k and they claim no one will EVER be able to tell it was a different color. I've always wanted an all black 6.0. IMO it's the best looking truck on the road

4K to repaint a Super Duty is cheap especially if you are changing the color completely. Unless you "know a guy" I would a little suspicious of the price. I would have to agree with choupique108, white does look great on SD's. It is easy to take care of, unlike black.

Thats a real cheap price. I would make sure and look at some of their other paint jobs first. As for black..... best looking color by far...until your the one cleaning and waxing it! I have had numouros black vehicles, even a 06 F350 DRW last year. Awesome looking truck but a nightmare to take of. I wont own another black vehicle, unless its a show car and only comes out of the garage for car shows. Just my 2cents!

I got my car keyed three years ago before i had my truck. Cost $3k and they did EVERYTHING. Pulled all the body panels off, sanded them down, and repainted them from scratch. Did such a good job the dealership i traded to for my truck didn't know it was re-painted.

I guess it all depends on whose doing it and how they'll do it. This is one of those areas i wouldn't skimp on and pay the lowest bidder.

To be honest I really like the color I have now but everyone and their grandma has this color and not to mention that just solid white is by far the most popular color on our trucks. IMO I feel like it's just really played out and I've always been one to want to stand out from the crowd. But I certainly will not skimp for the lowest bidder. This place is the only place I would trust to do it. They have done countless awesome custom jobs and have done body work on a hit and run I had a few years back you couldn't tell the new paint from the original. That quote was about 4 years ago though so maybe it has gone up.

I would add approximately 30% to that original quote at the very least since it is 4 yrs old.
