Chrome Bumper Discolored

Have any of you guys had your rear chrome bumper discolor from your exhaust?

I noticed today on my truck that both corners of my bumper(I have dual exhaust) are purple/blue obviously from the heat. The strange thing is I have owned the truck for a year and a half and had the exhaust on the truck the whole time. I spend lots of time detailing my truck and there is no way I wouldn't have noticed this before so it had to have just happened in the last couple of days.

Discoloration like that can take some time. I run into that on my Harleys. Get yourself a jar of Blue Job and that should remove most if not all of the bluing.

Well after I posted this I went out side and took my finger and the discoloration wipes right off.

I have been thinking about it and 2000 km ago I did a oil change and I used to always use mobil 1 5w40. But this time i got a great deal on shell rotella 5w40 so I used the shell for the first time. A few days after doing the oil change I noticed a light haze of smoke coming out of the exhaust occasionally at idle and sometimes when taking off from a stop a puff of bluish smoke will come out. I am starting to think that is what caused the discoloration on the bumper.
