Tailgate

I am jealous of the 2008 tailgate feature withe step and handle. Can the new 2008 Super Duty tailgate be retrofitted to a 2006 Super Duty?

As far as I know they are interchangeable from 99-08. The Beds are all the same so it stands to reason that the gates will bolt up the same. I talked to the dealer and they claimed that the 08 step tailgate will bolt up perfectly on my 2000 F350. It was like $315 new from the dealer w/out paint. I'll just wait until there are a few more 08's on the road and folks start putting on aftermarket beds etc. It would cost me about $400 total to get the bed ans have it painted...too rich for my blood.

Thats a lot less than I heard before. I thought it was something like a $2200 option. So, the $400 is not looking as bad. That was just what I heard though.
