Tailgate swap 06 to newer style

Is it possible to swap tailgates from a 2006 to mayabe an 08-09 model? I am not sure and would like to know before I purchase one.

You might wanna do a search - I think I read that the driver's side hinge pin assembly needs to be changed. But...it is doable

Only if you want to use the lift assist. If you dont have the lift assist you dont need the new assembly
