drop hitch
so when i drove off in my new truck i was unaware that it didnt come with a hitch, at all. the kid must have took it off for a cleaner look for his city driving?
heres the problem where can i get a new one? tried 3 local parts places and none had it. then went to ford and sat for 1 3/4 hours to realize there no part number for what i need. and they brought the wrong one? i have the 18 in spare. am i going to have to build my own or is there one to buy? |

More than sure you can get one. Try these companies first....Draw-Tite, Reese, Hidden Hitch, Curt and Valley. Website help too!!! Trailer Hitch | etrailer.com |

the cheapest would be to go to a local salvage yard unless you just want a new one

If your truck is stock ride height, you can get what you are after at Walmart. They sell Reese drawbars up to 6" drop. Anything bigger than that, you will need to go online or a local RV shop.

I fell into mine( guy wanted to trade me my stock "powerstroke" emblems, which I took off for his 11" hitch ).....but I priced them at a local welding shop and also local trailer factory....just a couple ideas.

Are you looking for a receiver (bolts to the frame) or a ball mount/hitch? I'm confused on what's missing and I think others are too.

me to lol by his post it sounds like he is looking for the receiver thats why i mentioned the salavage yard he could get a factory one for prolly 50 bucks or so if he is one wanting a drop hitch he could go to tractor supply and get a forged one in 2 4 or 6 inch drop for around 40 bucks which is what i would recoulmend thats what i use and ive never been able to break one ive broke one from walmart before

talking about the frame mounted unit. went to fleet farm and got the wrong one, went to hedals and same thing, went to a truck accessories place in billings and tried the wrong one, also stopped by ford and called the part number up, that one also didnt fit. thinking the tire is too big? but i dont really want to buy a tire and a hitch.
