Cab Light Question

I have my Recon Smoked LED Cab lights ready to go on. I think that the instructions stink, but that's a different story I can figure it out. My question is this. Because the roof / windshield line is curved, does the orientation of the cab light follow the windshield curve or are they are they all parallel to each other? Forgive the crudeness of the drawing:

First one is the parallel, the second follows the curve of the windshield.

I installed mine like the first drawing you posted (see pic for example)

Set them up there both ways and see which on you like better

Got the lights installed, I put them in like the second picture, where they follow the line of the windshield. Installing that was was far easier, and my kids said it looked better that way. Looking at an older SD, I saw that the factory did it that way as well. I love the look of the lights, but in my opinion the Recon kit is a little lacking. If I were to do it again, I'd go with the factory lights, then replace the lens with a smoked lens.

Really you are not happy with the led cab lights? I was debating on those and am glad I didnt...well I guess I would have to see it in person before I decided.

There are 2 things that I do like. First, I do like the LED look, and second I like the lens. I don't know how the stock lights mount, but I suspect that they mount with studs and nuts. The Recon mount with sheet metal screws. Second, the wiring harness is nothing special. And finally the instructions are how to mount the factory lights (and I swear that I read tose instructions on a website somewhere), not the Recon lights which I bought. Ok, it may be petty but I still think that getting the Ford parts (with harness) then replacing the lens would be a better deal even if it cost more except you wouldn't get the LED lights that way.

gotchya, I bought the ford harness and lights and bought the recon lenses. Yes the ford lights have studs with screws (if I remember right, been a while since I have installed mine) I thought about buying led bulds to see what that looks like?
