badge removal?

i tried searching for this so sorry if someone else already posted. Does tailgate F350 badge have holes behind it? or is it just taped on? same with the fender badges

almost positive it is just 3M tape. might want to wait for more feedback to be sure.

I'm almost positive all the F250/F350 badges have an alignment hole. The powerstroke badge should not. But then again it's late and I might have it backwards. Best to wait for positive confirmation.

This has always been one of my pet peeves with Fords for years. My wife's Dodge had badges all over it, none of which will fade or get really ugly; yet a little over 1 hours work with fishing line and goo gone and every single badge on her truck is gone. And it looks good! NO alignment holes! And yet Ford uses the crappy badges with the paint that fades out after a couple years or so and gets so nasty looking , but you can't remove 'em without doing body work because of the blasted holes!!!

it's very easy to de-badge your truck, just use a heat gun to heat up the badge enough till you can wiggle it then take some fishing line or dental floss and use it to "saw" off the badge. then i use an eraser wheel to remove all remaining tape that's still on the truck.

posted about this in another thread a while bak but dont remember wat it was. had a couple guys say that theyre TG didnt hav hols in it and a couple others say that it id. . guess its hit or miss. all the ones ive done here at the shop hav the holes in the tailgate. and theres def hole in the fenders. no hole in the doors tho.

PS- i use a puddy knife to pry the badge off and a 3M earaser wheel in a drill to get the double sided tape off. u can get these wheels at NAPA. they r about 3" around and r a tan color.

the f series badge on the tailgate has two alignment holes behind it. or at least my 06 did.

i did my badges on my 06 the tail gate has alignment holes, the doors do not, repeat do not, the fenders have alignment holes. good luck.
