widest rims

Does anybody know what the widest size rim will fit on a 06sd, does it matter what size the rim is like 18,20,22. The problem Im having is I want to get 20 or 22 inch rims but the one place told me that the widest you can go is 8.5 and most of the rims that I want are at least 9.5 wide. also it is stock hieght no lift 06 f350 ext cab short bed fx4 if that makes a diff.

not sure but I would think offset would play a bigger role then width.

yea the guy said that they would have to be offset due to the rear would rub the problem Im having is finding a 8.5 wide rim that I like all the ones I like are at least 9.5 wide.

I run 22X9.5's all the way around...on a 3/6 drop.

so the 9.5 dont rub? I realy dont see how they will but the rim guy says they will. I also was planning on getting the 305/45 tire size

I have a 22x9.5 on mine but with a 35" tire and a 6 in lift... you should be fine all the way to a size 33 with no rub problems at all..
