You have to manipulate the mirror and get to the tabs behind the glass. it is kinda tough at first. make sure you do not pinch any wires either. i did and had to redo all the work. also be careful not to break the butterfly tabs on the lights. they break easily.

So does the amber lense just pop out the side...or does the front of the mirror pop off?...I'm confused

You have to separate to two black plastic halves in order to get the lights out. Then replace the lights and put it back together.

you will have to pull the back skin off the mirror to get to the light
To remove the back skin, adjust the mirror all the way in...towards the door window. Take a flashlight and look between the mirror glass and the inside of the back skin...you'll see the tabs I'm talking about. I would suggest using a headlamp on a band around your head...that way both hands are free. Insert a flathead screw driver and CAREFULLY pry up on the latch head...pry up too far and you'll break that tab right off. Once you get the first one to unlatch, move to the next one and repeat the process until they're all unlatched. Then simply pull the skin off from the outside of the mirror. you'll need to disconnect the small wiring harness to complete the removal. To reinstall, simply line everything back up and snap the back into place. |
