I run stock size, so I'm no help for the tire size question, but I will recommend a GREAT tire for thse trucks, the Nitto Dura Grappler. I love mine

X2

Great tires

They made a BIG difference on my truck with a daily weight of 12,000 lbs.

Im running Nitto Dura Highway Terrains, 285/75/17. Actually measure out to about a 33.8" tire. Nice tire, no rubbing, speedo was off quite a bit but I adjusted it.

How are these tires on the highway with noise? What is the estimated life on these tires?

Quiet as hell on the hwy, and I was told of a guy that hauled a 10k trailer on a regular basis, and he had 80k on the Dura's with life left; truck was an F350 DRW

The Dura's are not an "aggressive" tire, but I have never been disappointed by traction issues, while hunting or playing in the snow here
