OEM or AM Headlights Whats the diff?

Ok so for a long time I have been looking at the Harley headlights to replace my stock 2005 lariat ones.

My question is what is the difference between the OEM Harley lights and the aftermarket ones on ebay and from A&M? Because the OEM one are usually really expensive but the ones on ebay are fairly cheap to buy. Does that mean that they wont last as long? not sealed as well? I just don't know has anybody gotten these and had any probs with them.

I just don't want to spend $300 bucks on OEM lights when I can spend a 1/3 on the ebay ones. Let me know yours guys thoughts.

I've purchased off-brand headlight housings from eBay before without a problem. What I did watch for in the eBay auctions, was DOT/SAE compliant. I didn't see that listed in the eBay listing that you linked to. Might be something to be wary of.

If it's got the DOT/SAE it shouldn't be a problem, as far as legalities go. Longevity of the product? I can't help you there. Good luck with this.

AM sells a set of those lights for 142 shipped. if you buy from the AM ebay store, its only $114, 57.05 each. but you dont get headlight harness to covert the lights......where can they be bought?
