2006 Towing mirror questions

So my newly purchased 2006 F350 Amarillo did NOT come with the chrome towing mirrors (no idea why unless it was ordered this way for the guy who 1st bought it). Anyway, if I spend the $$$ to buy towing mirrors with defrost and lights, will they plug in and work without running wires?

Also, anyone have any luck with aftermarket ones, they want like $400+ for each one at the dealer.....

Only will work if your regular mirrors have the same options.otherwise you have to get creative with the wiring.

So even if the truck came with every option under the sun, except the fancy mirrors, Ford would downgrade the wire harness in the door???

New from Ford is over $800..... from Kool Vue is like just over $400.....not sure what to do here.

the plug should be there for the turn signals... not sure about the heat.... you could do the 08 mirrors for cheaper than that... they bolt right up and you would just have to hardwire it in to your existing plug.... plus they look a lot better.... here is my old truck with the 08 mirrors and recon smoked lenses.. i can get you these for $750.00 shipped (anywhere in the 48 states without the recon lenses)

So the mirrors off an 08 will fit an 06?

I am looking on the Ford web site and so far have seen a lot of wiring harness options but have not found one yet that includes/excludes mirror options...it is.

I would go with the 08 mirrors

Ford is that dumb to leave the harness out.I sell block heater cords all day for trucks that have the heater and no cord.Make sure the dealer you are dealing with has the covers too because they don't come with the mirror.

yup there is just 1 small plastic tab you have to cut off which takes just a couple of min... after that they bolt right up.. the wire plugs are diff so you have to cut it off and hardwire them on to your existing wires...

Raul like the rack in the pic.I have one very similar on my ex Everybody asks where I got it from but mine came with my truck.Do you get head studs at a reasonable price.We sell a lot of them here at the dealer I work at.Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread.
