08 Tailgate fit on the 06?

I'm seriously considering getting one of the new tailgates with the step in it...plus I love the big "Super Duty" written across the back.

I'm guessing it fits right in on the bed...anyone have any idea how much this thing will cost?

Haha yeah, i thought the step would be a cool addition, but what I really like is the overall design of the tailgate itself. Then again, i dont know if the curves are different to where it would make it look funny

Plus my fat *** has a hard enough time climbing in there

That was a mod I had in mind too! If you look at the tailgate and than the surrounding body panels, that make up the bed, it's just the gate that's different. The bed itself is the same idea as what we have on our 99-07 trucks. So unless some hardware was changed inside, it should bolt right up.
I agree 100% that the tailgate on them looks NICE with the superduty and large Ford emblem in the center. I was thinking of debadging my whole truck and that would help- especially cause the powerstroke badge is the only one that matters

I would love to have the functionality of the step in the new tailgate, but having to sell my existing tailgate, and get a new one line-x'ed is just too much money.

my trucks getting a set of the 08 taillights some time next week looking into the tailgate at the moment since mine is caved in! not really that shocking tho dont drop 55gal drums on them they bow out and dent big time lol:blowup:
