i would like to give you a little for sight on your exact winch..... a friend of mine who put that exact winch on his stock rubicon got high centered on a log went to winch him self out and the entire winch exploded in about 45 parts the mounts to the bumper worked fine but the actual spool gave way and blew out. if you would like ill send you pics of it. the jeep only weighs about 3200 at most and i had to pull him out with my jeep cj8. with a tow strap and he came out very easy. but for warning that winch is VERY DANGEROUS!!!!

Having said that, this would be a good time to remind everybody to be safe with your winch. It's important to always practice safe winch use. For example; always use a snatch block and stand behind your vehicle when operating the winch. Much like a Hi-Lift Jack, a winch is a very capable tool that can be very useful but can also be very dangerous. Please use this situation as a reminder to always be safe when using these powerful tools. We're very sorry for your situation and we hope no one was hurt. |
