2008 taillight on a 2005

Really liking the way the 2008 taillights look a lot more than the older taillights. The older ones just look to dated to me. Sooo I am wondering what all is involved in swapping out taillights.

Also does anyone have an tips on the best place to purchase the taillights, and or other parts required to make this swap.

you need to get the reverse plug and replace your stock reverse plug, and light, other than that they are complete bolt on mod....go for it! mine will be going in in 2010 when taxes come back and my truck gets paitned.

Chad

when I bought my taillights I used car-part.com and went through a company called greenleaf, and used 194 sockets for a license plate for the reverse lights.....otherwise you can use ford( which I did for my second set, and the license plates, cost me 120 through ford and 60 through greenleaf..

so youve got some options....

powerstrokeshop.com-130 shipped( harnesses and all )
ford-120 just lenses-5 auto parts store
greenleaf( used )-60 shipped w/ military discount-5 auto parts store....

Chad

I personally would go ford, you can pick them up next day in most cases, and the lenses I bought had a warranty through ford.....just gotta look around...

I got mine off EBAY and got the plugs at the parts store. Just wire them to the existing harness and mount the lights.

That's the one we swapped pieces for alright. I got a few rattle cans and some sand paper and took to it. It came out MUCH nicer than I expected. I got one quarter sized area that needs touching up.

and if you want the textured upper pad Ill gladly trade you that too!!!!
