can u paint textured plastic

working on collecting parts for an 05 conversion found some 05 xl grill and bumper pad only problem they are xl textured plastic. i was wondering if they can be painted if so how dose it look?

It can be done. I took my plastic door handles to a body shop and got them painted to match the truck. I believe they sand the textured off, and smooth it all before painting. I think it looks good.

yes you can paint them but you will need to use a promoter to get the paint to stick well. You can pick it up at any autobody paint supplyer.

and it still looks pretty good? it doesn't have to look like a show stopper just not to bad.

YES
1 remove
2 sand even
3 apply a promoter base primer (x2 coats)
4 let dry
5 sand lightly
6 tack cloth it off
7 tape and paint
8 realize what a pita it was!

I painted an ENTIRE 1988 Mustang 5.0 interior. Dash, door panels, and seats. I went from porno red to black and gray. Ir lasted for years (sold the car, never saw issues). I do remember doing alot of resurch on good paint, and PREP. MUST PREP correctly.
