07 hid ballast problem

i recently purchased a hid kit on ebay for my 07 f250. It has the h13 bulbs, 6000k, but the ballasts have a 2 pin connector where u are supposed to plug the factory harness into it. The factory 9008 bulb plug has 3 wires/ prongs on the plug. So how do i get the correct ballast to work with the 3 pin plug?

When I got my kit nothing matched either. Supposed to be plug and play. You have a ground wire. A low beam positive and a high beam positive. Are your HD's BiZeon(hi/lo) or single beam. I just had to cut my plugs off and solder the connections. There is alot of current draw when the lights fire up.But the inconvienence of having to cut the plugs off seemed to be my only resolution. And solder will give you the best connection. When I have to change them later just have to go thru the solder process again due to the current neede to fire them up.Good Luck

Yeah mine are single beam. So they only have a Low beam pin and ground pin on the connector. I guess i'm gonna have to buy some 2 pin headlight plugs and cut them up to make em work.

so i got all the headlight bugs worked out after i got my new bulbs in.

anyway so i then installed bulbs and ballasts for my fog lights, they worked great except i blew the fog lamp fuse in about 10 seconds when i first powered them on. Its a 10amp mini fuse. I read on the ballast that it pulls max 10 amps on startup i guess, so i put a 20amp minifuse in there and it works fine now.

Anybody else have that problem with hid foglamps?

better be careful doulbing the fuse size it may not pop and melt down some wiring i would do a 15a and try that no bigger or you could be in for trouble.

I dont know how your ballast are but mine have a switch lead and the fog light can be used as a switch, "BUT" there is a positive (+) connection that goes to the battery for the high current to fire the ballast. So the switch just triggers a relay so the high current draw comes directly from the battery. On my heads I hooked up each headlight to each battery on the appropriate side, and just use the headlight swith as normal. SAme way with my fogs. Must have a relay to protect the wires from the high current draw. Gook Luck

I got them going. Just put a bigger fuse in the foglights and i had to rewire the ground wire on one headlight thats why it wasnt working along with the bulb being bad.
