Should I Lift Or Level?

Looking for some educated info from the forum on the question of a 3" lift or a 2.5" leveling kit. Not interested in going much higher than that simply because I want to keep it as inexpensive as possible, I'm not getting any younger and I still have to convince the ball and chain its a good idea worth investing in! (Maybe I need to get Obama to talk to her) Currently have LT265/75R/16/E, BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's on factory aluminum rims. Wanting to go up in tire and rim size enough to "fill in" the wheel well a bit. Also wanting a black/chrome or all black rims. Plans are to line-ex my bumpers and lower part of doors and bed to contrast with the blue. Any comments/suggestions are welcomed. Pics of similarly done trucks are also appreciated to help me formulate a plan.

1. Wheels and Tires Look up Home - Discount Tire Direct they do free shipping and they are redy to put on the truck.

2. Lift, if you level you can do LT285's To run 35's you will need at least 4" of lift 6" would be better. or they will rub on the springs.
