Legal Window Tint

I was wondering what percentage of tint I could go with on the front windows without running afoul of the law.

We live in Illinois and I've heard some about folks getting tickets for having tinted windows. Because of my inability sometimes to restrain from expressing my opinions, I figure it'd be in everybody's best interest if it didn't become necessary to discuss tint laws with an officer of the law.

Do the laws vary by state or locally?

As always, appreciate the help.

Al

They pretty much vary by state. A good option would be to tint the fronts to match the factory in the back. Still legal in most states and looks great

State Window Tinting Laws

none on the front two, and you can go as dark on you want on the rest, if you were to go with a light tint like 35% or 45% id doubt they would say anything to you and just bring it for a sticker on a sunny day and leave the windows down
