Xenon lights legal?

This might be crazy, but I got behind a State Patrol coming home tonight and probably bit all my fingernails off. I was for sure he was going to pull me over for the xenon headlights and fogs. they are 6000K, noting crazy like the purple and blues. I figured thats why he didnt mess with me. BUT can they? I have talked to some of the Sheriff dept's in my home town and they thought they were cool, but out of town im a little worried.......

I have never been hassled for mine. Don't know the legal part of it though. Hell they put them on Prius' they must be legal.

sorry for being a little off topic but I have to ask,

What did you guys do about the turn signal lamp? I have 05 Harley lights with 8000k HID's and I think they look silly with the stock halogen bulb under the headlights.

the HID kit I have in my heads and fogs is from retrosolutions.com I believe they had on the box for off-road use only.... It is my understanding that the problem with putting HIDs in our trucks is that the headlight assembly is a reflector based housing and that HIDs should not be in this housing. The reflector is built for use in a halogen set up when HIDs are put in there the light is not focused as it would be in a housing built for HIDs. That being said I love mine and give me plenty of light on the road with my 6k kit...
