I'll take your word for it.

I've already been drumming up ideas for my 08, I might be moving that seat forward too. But yes, it doesn't look like it will be as easy as my 02.

You should look at Michael Hughes website, he does some really good work:

SPL2K

Here is a link to his 08+ Superduty Boxes:

If you are looking for mounting subs to fit real nice and easy, check out Pioneer shallow mount subs. They allow you to use a more shallow box, therefore allowing you to keep your seats in the same spots. Check the link out.

I'm running a single Pioneer Shallow mount 12 now. I just built a simple sealed box. I want to either want to get one of the SPL2K boxes for a single 12 and run the one I have or get one of his boxes for the two 12's and get another one.

I am really in the same sort of delima........

Pioneer shallow mount 12 vs JL 13TW5
I have heard good things about both. Not judging by cost, whats the pros & cons of these two subs?

Single Ported 12 vs Two Sealed 12s in the shallow mount subs
Which is louder?

I listen to everything.

Technically speaking sealed and vented are supposed to have a little different sound. I have never sat down to really notice the difference. Vented boxes generally have to be larger than sealed boxes. So when it comes to space saving, I would run one or two subs sealed. That's just coming from me. I've dealt with subs in the past, and I don't care about being the loudest *** in the neighborhood, so I would just run the shallows, which is still going to sound great, and call it a day.

If you need any sort of stereo equipment, alarms or electronics check out Car Audio Stereo - Car Subwoofers - Car Amplifiers and Speakers They have everything BRAND NEW at way less than anywhere you can think of shopping. I've ordered many a thing from them and have had ZERO PROBLEMS with them or the products.

thats strange, i am pretty sure all of the 03 trucks i have worked on systems for the rear seat bolts up the same as my 04 and the same as 05-07 trucks I have built. however i do think 02 and older are different i know they have have more room back there. I do agree you should not need to move your seat to get good sound. if you do your home work you can pick the right sub that will work with the air space that is available. many configureations will work; 4- 8's, 2-4-10's or 2- 12's. its all about picking the right speaker.

My cousin and I have built two of them, one for my truck and one for his. We just measured the distance on the bottom and top of the box area, made an angle cut to match, and stair stepped it for the motor and cab vent. For the other cab vent, we just cut a hole in the box and put a piece of MDF on the inside to seal the hole.
what are the dimensions of your box? im looking to do 6 eight in subs behind my seat. im thinking im going to have to move the seat forward about 4 inchs to get the right amount of air space.

I just had two JL W1's installed behind the seat of my kingranch. I have a Alpine PBX5 pushing the door speakers and the two JL's and they sound, didn't want my rack removed underneath the back seat so had to find an amp to run all my speakers. its sound very good I think but again I have grown out of the the stage of wanting to vibrate the wheels off the car beside me.

RanchStroke,

Where did you install your amp and still retain the tray underneath the rear seat? Any pics?

Thanks,
JCG
