Auxiliary Input Adapter
Has anyone seen information on the internet that details how to make your own auxiliary input adapter or what type of siginal out is produced for the radio aux input to work? Although I don't use it, I went to school for electronics and do a little stuff on the side for myself. I'm wanting to install a small jack in my dash to plug my MP3 play and Sat radio into on my 05 F250 with the 6 disc in-dash changer.

NEVER MIND! I found a copy of the wiring diagram and noticed that it uses CAN bus to communicate with an external device. I thought it may have a simply siginal like sourcing or sinking a DC voltage that let the radio know it had an external device connected. CAN bus protocol is similar to ethernet or modbus. I guess I'll have to breakdown and buy the PIE adapter. Thanks, Jim |
