Door keypad not working

I have a '04 F-350. The driver's door keypad does not work. I replaced the pad and still nothing. It will not lock or unlock the doors. What else could be the problem?
Thanks

That keypad is directly linked to the security module which communicates with the computer. We replaced the keypad on my dads F150 and then the dealer had to use their scanner and set up the security code for it.

Why would you need to do that for a keypad swap? seems like the module wouldn't know a new one from the old one?

Two way communication between the computer and the security module. The keypad is in that loop of communication. Each keypad has a different serial number, that the computer recognizes. I think each keypad has the unlock code in it. If not, than someone could pry your keypad off, connect theres, and unlock your vehicle. My dads was changed because somebody tried to break in his truck, they pried the door handle and the keypad out, and still didn't get in. Mind you, he only had the truck for about a month. I guess it would be kind of like the computer you are using now; how does it know when you connect a new piece of hardware through a USB or serial port. Two way communication.
