Most (if not all) of your tuners have the feature to disable it. But that of course means you have to return it to the stock tune before you take it in to the dealer. I'm not aware of any way to do it without a tuner but rest assured if there IS a way you'll be in the same boat if the dealer finds out about about it as you'd be if you took it in tuned.

speed limiter

Hey Rodslinger,
Thanx forn the info.
If i tune or don't tune the truck w/ a programer like SCT Looney Tunes,
won't the dealer know that the OEM computer has been modified?
I WAS TOLD BY A FORD TECH, that.......if you bring it in w/ the stock tune the dealer can read that the OEM computer had been modified and returned, or even just a data entry and removal event would show the Techies @ Ford that it has been modded wether it is brought in tuned or brought in tuned back to stock AFTER being tuned prior?
Basically if you use a tuner you VOID your Factory Warranty,,,REGARDLESS
if it is brought to FORD tuned or stock after running a tune? I was told that they would Know no matter what.
maybe in some areas it is under dealer compromise, but my service tech @ FORD said Cat-back only on exhaust and aftermarket filter (AirRaid) IN THE FACTORY AIR BOX ! ONLY ! If just putting this computer back to stock after the Tune (prior to a dealer visit) had been installed is all I need to worry about OK !
But a BIG But is who is right and if it's a grey area I should err on the side of caution untill i drop 50 -60 K miles on her. THEN WATCH OUT. I'll be shooting for high 12's in the qtr. Thanx a million for your help.
